The Raven Grill

With the Raven and adjacent Picnic, owners Sara and Rob Cromie have successfully revived this strip of Bissonnet. Stylishly decor includes chartreuse walls, birdseed cocktail tables, rustic cement floors and Edgar Allen Poe-inspired art. Moneyed sophisticates and families with kids in tow come for the unfussy fare and neighborhood setting. Mouthwatering strip steak marinated in bourbon, burgundy and spices is beautifully charred. Catfish or thin-sliced, grilled tuna steak couldn't be fresher. From seafood enchiladas to juicy burgers, there's an option for every taste.

Sunday brunch favorites include french toast, eggs Benedict and scrumptious cheese grits. The Bloody Marys have a cult following.
