Dust off your grass skirt and get ready to embrace the Tiki culture at Down House alumnus Russell Thoede and his wife Elizabeth Thoede’s new concept, Lei Low.

Tucked away next to a convenient store in the Historic Heights neighborhood, the unassuming exterior makes way to a vintage-America-meets-Polynesian décor indoors, reminiscent of '60s-era island life. The small space is perfectly cozy for friends or a date in need of a taste of tropical paradise without the pricey plane ticket.

Lining the mahogany bar are Tiki mugs, coconut cups and too many tiny umbrellas to count. The bar is backed by a traditional Tiki A-frame and is topped with a thatched roof.

As for the drinks, get ready to love rum. With over 60 rums to choose from, the bar staff gets creative with their concoctions. From Double Hemingway Daiquiris to "Cut Nose Tiki", made with rum, Campairi, cinnamon, papaya and lime.

If rum isn't your poison, they also serve bourbon drinks, gin drinks and of course, flammable drinks for the daring.
